Warm Congratulations 

on the Successful Convening of the 6th National Zebrafish PI Congress in Wuhan

Held from November 15 to 17 and hosted by the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and other related institutions, the 6th National Zebrafish PI Congress gathered 380 experts and scholars from the research fields of zebrafish and other aquatic animals in Wuhan.

Academician Zhu Zuoyan of the CAS, Honorary Chair of the Congress, and other distinguished guests attended the event. Miao Wei, Director of IHB, Liu Feng, Chair of the Zebrafish Branch of the Chinese Zoological Society, and Meng Anming, Academician of the CAS and Chair of the Congress, delivered speeches successively.

During the two-day conference, keynote presentations were delivered by scholars including Meng Anming, Carl-Philips Heisenberg (Member of the German Academy of Sciences), Du Jiulin (Researcher at the Centre for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligence Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences), He Shunping (Researcher at the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Liu Mo-fang (Researcher at the Centre for Excellence in Molecular Cell Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Luo Lingfei (Professor at Fudan University), and Yu Li (Professor at Tsinghua University). More than 90 experts and scholars active in the research of zebrafish and other aquatic experimental animals reported their teams’ latest research achievements around various research directions, such as maternal factors and early development.

Held every two years, the National Zebrafish PI Congress is the most high-profile academic conference representing China's zebrafish research field, and is undertaken by the China Zebrafish Resource Center of the National Aquatic Biological Resource Bank at IHB.
